there are so many people here in Berkeley who get arrested exercising their rights in a meaningful way.

just for what reason would someone need to carry a gun around for anyway? the speaker in the video talks about police harassment, while walking around pretending to be a cop? Telegraph doesn't need vigilantes; this person is not Batman or the Punisher.

typical liberal response. you're OK with the pigs running around with guns and murdering innocent people and deer, but if a regular person should so much as deign to openly carry an unloaded gun, you throw a fit. why don't you focus your outrage on the true purveyors of gun violence: the pigs.

I really don't want to get shot either by you or by the cops. Is that "a typical liberal response"? I think guns are stupid. Nor am I against the right to bare arms. I am against laws.

Most people who are for the right to bare arms think having a gun is sacred or something, as if being able to shoot someone would make you or me free, which is bullshit. It's about power. Does that mean I think laws should be enforced and people should be jailed. No. I just think guns are stupid and I don't particularly want to be caught in a firefight as you and the cops attempt to prove whose dick is bigger.

At no point in the video does this person approach a cop, he seems to be staying clear from them. So he's not taking on the police.

With respect to say, the Black Panthers for instance, I advocate carrying guns, but running down the street with your gun just strikes me as lame.

The Open carry law, it seems to me, is like some more of the macho, dumbing down, power bullshit that so pervades are society, than having anything to do with pointing toward social change, and an actual shift in consciousness.

The man seemed intelligent yet people are ranting like he's some thug out to get you or an undercover ready to bust a pot circle in peoples park. Give me a break, i agree with the person above, why is it a problem for you that a black man openly carries an unloaded weapon? You all sound like a bunch of scared white people. As a woman who has been harassed before I'd love to be able to do the same, would I, as a white woman, get the same responses?

It seems to me that guns are usually used in the 2 following ways: either to shoot someone, or to intimidate by scaring someone into thinking of the possibility of being shot.

I'll be honest, I am intimidated by the presence guns. Are they loaded? According to the Open Carry law they're not supposed to be, but obviously the point of carrying the gun is to imply to someone that they might have bullets.

Cops are not supposed to just shoot someone, but them having a gun is intended to raise the suspicion of that possibility.

What's the point of carrying an unarmed gun anyway? The cops shoot people for carrying a camera or a water pistol, so now they might shoot more people they're suspicious of?
