This upcoming Thursday at 12:30 PM student occupiers will participate in a press conference to discuss the details of the sanctions that students are currently facing for their participation in the occupation that took place on December 9th-10th.

Halston Chapman, a junior and philosophy major, has been suspended from San Francisco State University for one year effective this upcoming fall semester and forced to reapply after the suspension. He is the only student that requested a fair trial out of the total 11 students that are facing sanctions from the University office of Student Judicial Affairs.

The other 10 students are facing restitution for damages to property for charges that amount to $ 8,126.71 dollars total. They are also currently at risk of facing suspension for a year in which they will be forced to reapply afterwards.

This repression at San Francisco State University sets a dangerous precedent. Come hear from the words of the occupier themselves about the injustices taking place on this campus and help deliver signed petitions advocating that all sanctions are dropped in a fair and consistent manner to the actions taken trying to defend public education. The administration must be held accountable for the rights of students to participate in peaceful demonstrations that fight for accessible education for all.
