May Day 2010 in San Francisco: photos (1 of 2)

by dave id
With blue skies on a warm and breezy Saturday afternoon in Dolores Park, anti-authoritarians gathered for May Day. Several organizations tabled while others sunned and socialized. UA in the Bay put on several skits and reenactments including a history of anarchism, the Oscar Grant rebellions of January 2009, and the pieing of Lierre Keith at this year's Bay Area Anarchist Bookfair. There was a traditional Maypole celebration with dancers young and old, ribbons, and live music. Afterwards, a couple hundred people with mobile sound systems marched off for a Reclaim The Streets party that roamed and danced through San Francisco. The RTS concluded between 16th and 15th on Mission Street at a short-lived occupation of a vacant public school.

Some of your faithful and tireless Indybay volunteers tabling in Dolores Park with a slew of brand spanking new t-shirts. Also tabling in the park were Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), PM Press, AK Press, Friendly Fire Collective, and others.
