In conjunction with the annual Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios the first two weekend in June, 20 East Bay artists join together to exhibit a wide range of artwork - paintings, mixed media, drawings, sculpture, jewelry and weaving. The artists’ vibrant styles span realism, expressionism, abstract and much more. The exhibit takes place at the architectural jewel, Uptown Body and Fender, at 401 26th Street, located in the heart of the “art murmur” district of Oakland. With its brick walls, high ceilings and clean, light-filled space, the space is a perfect venue to enjoy the artists’ creations.

A preview reception and fundraiser will be held Friday, June 4th, with 20% of the sales from the reception benefiting the Oakland non-profit organization, St. Mary’s Center, stmaryscenter.org. Uptown Body & Fender owner Giovanna Tanzillo generously donates the use of her building to the artists, as well as other community groups throughout the year.

Art lovers may view sample work by the over 400 artists participating the Open Studios event at Pro Arts Gallery located at 150 Frank Ogawa Plaza in downtown Oakland. The preview exhibit opens on May 4th. Gala and artist receptions will be held on Thursday, June 3rd. Viewers create their own custom art tour through viewing the preview exhibit, the show directory/map and visiting the online gallery. Directory/maps are available at Pro-Arts Gallery and you may preview online at proartsgallery.org.
