According to rumors among the homeless community who last saw Johnny alive, an unidentified homeless woman and former girlfriend from Arlee, MT paid Eugene Joseph "Joey" Gonzalez and Raymond Garfield Big Beaver, aka “Ray-Ray,” to kill the man.

His skull was reportedly crushed after being knocked down and repeatedly kicked in the head No one else has been charged in connection with the killing. The two men allegedly turn themselves into authorities for their own protection after learning that friends and relatives of the murdered man were gathering weapons and hunting for them, this also according to rumors among persons closely related to the case.

No additional violence over the man’s death has been reported, but many have express relief over these arrests out of concern for their own safety and sadness for the loss of their close friend.

The Missoula community has expressed shock as well as concern for the wellbeing of Missoula’s homeless community. In 2007 Forrest Clayton Salcido, a 56-year-old homeless man, was stomped to death by two men in an apparent ‘thrill killing.’ EHC/EHC --
