Obama's dark 'Sneak & Peek' into Kabul
Imitating George W. Bush's Turkey Trot into Afghanistan back in 2002, Barack Obama flew furtively into Kabul in the middle of the night. In so doing, POTUS 44 unwittingly confirmed to the world that too many Afghans view the US as an Occupier and the 100,000 GIs--including their "Commander-in-Chief"--as unwelcome Invaders.
The contrasting symbolism between the Presidential visits to Kabul by Iran's Ahmadjinedad last month and by America's Obama yesterday couldn't be more revealing: 3 weeks ago the Iranian head of state came to a sizable welcome and directly addressed Afghanis, whereas the Washington chieftain had to sneak into the Afghan capital in the middle of the night(like a thief) and he only spoke to American Occupation troops. Clearly, this is a case of a Colonial master flying in to scold his "house slave" Hamid Karzai(who wasn't even informed of Obama's "visit" until the night before) on the proper "governance" of his strategic client state.
