Demonstration Against Cell Tower at Camp Herms in El Cerrito

Date:
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Time:
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Arlington Park Against Cell Phone Towers
Location Details:
9:30-10:30 am and 1-2 pm, at entrance to Camp Herms at 1120 James Place in El Cerrito (right behind Arlington Park)

This is a demonstration to oppose the construction of 77 foot, 3 G industrial cell tower at Camp Herms Boy Scout Club, located in a residential neighborhood behind Arlington Park. There are numerous studies (primarily in Europe where independent studies not funded by the telecommunications industry exist) that conclude that living, working or spending the day near cell tower emitters is dangerous, especially for children. We are hoping to persuade the executives of the Boy Scouts Club that the monetary compensation they would receive from T-Mobile for leasing their land is not worth the risk they would be inflicting on park users, residents, and their scouts. Please join us!
