Protests take over downtown Oakland streets
Over 250 protestors took to the streets of downtown Oakland for an unscripted direct action March following the March 4 "Day of Action." Protestors march in the streets of downtown Oakland, past the UC Office of the President all the way tothe 880 freeway, where they later took over the freeway. 150 people were arrested.
In an energetic and joyous moment of civil disobedience, about 250 people took to the street to march for high education. Protestors of all ages and races walked together in the street, singing songs, dancing and chanting, "No cuts, no fees" and "Chop from the Top," most of the group ended up marching onto the freeway. 160 people were arrested.
