Oakland Police attack protestors on 880 freeway after education protest

Towards the end of the March 4 'Day of Action' to Defend Public Education, over 150 people took over an Oakland freeway in a direct action that caused traffic to be shut down for an hour. When police closed in on protestors, some began hitting students with their clubs in their legs, arms and backs.

OAKLAND-Towards the end of the March 4 'Day of Action' to Defend Public Education, over 150 people took over an Oakland freeway in a direct action that caused traffic to be shut down for an hour.

Police moved in on protestors and some officers began hitting protestors yelling, "Get on the Ground!" and "Get on the Fucking Ground!" Those who did not move fast enough with beaten with three-foot clubs. Men and women were both equally beaten.

Protestors were not seen making threatening moves, or resisting arrest.
