Rosa Parks Day Award Winners include Regina Yin, Mary Hights, Delores Huerta, Ruby Muhammad, First Lady Maria Shriver, Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, Penny Kastanis, Paula Lorenza and Alice Huffman will receive their Service Awards, during our California Ag Day Celebration, Monday, March 22, 2010, as part of Women's History Month.

Sacramento, CA ~ Monday, February 8, 2010, will mark the 10th Anniversary of Rosa Parks Day in California.

We begin Monday morning, 10:15 a.m., 10th Street and Capitol Mall Drive, in front of the West Steps of our California State Capitol, with a Historic Regional Transit Bus Tour.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, California Executive Officers and the California Legislature are invited to recognize Rosa Parks Day in California and continue to honor the contribution of our American icon, Rosa Louise McCauley Parks, may her spirit live on within the hearts and minds of all American's, forever.

Free community tours of our Historic Sacramento Regional Transit Bus will follow and utilize the powerful transportation symbol, to share the unique aspect of American History, that sparked the Modern Day Civil Rights Movement, on December 1, 1955.

The 10th Anniversary, Rosa Parks Day in California, entertainment features the smooth R&B sound of "America's Got Talent Finalist" Lawrence Beamen; Chocolate Siztas "Red Dress" Fashion Show and Black Agriculture in the 21st Century, "Healthy Solutions," Monday evening, California State Capitol, Room 126, 5:30 p.m. ~ 7:30 p.m., free community event.

Our Black Agriculture in the 21st Century ~ Healthy Solutions Campaign honors Rosa Parks and 9 modern California Women Warriors who demonstrate the faith and courage as a "Tribute to Dear Rosa." Regina Yin, Mary Hights, Delores Huerta, Ruby Muhammad, First Lady Maria Shriver, Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, Penny Kastanis, Paula Lorenza and Alice Huffman will receive our Rosa Parks Day Service Awards, during our California Ag Day Celebration, Monday, March 22, 2010.

We proudly join First Lady Michelle Obama and her celebration, "Music of the Civil Rights Era" and utilize Rosa Parks Day in California to challenge educators to expand the curriculum framework, standards and practices toward supporting inclusion culturally relevant instruction, inclusive of authentic California Black History.

California Transportation industry leaders are gaining priority consideration for job creation, career development that can help stabilize our Regional, State and National economy, we support that effort in the spirit of Rosa Parks.

On February 4, 2000, our California Legislature designated the first Monday following February 4 of each subsequent year, as Rosa Parks Day. All Californians are urged to pay homage to this great American icon.
