Women's Forum on Climate Crisis
Bay Area Gathering
State of the World Forum presents: Women’s 2020 Leadership Caucus - - Facing the Climate Crisis
Recently State of the World Forum (SWF) has partnered with Bioneers and Pachamama Alliance to create a bold ten-year campaign to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2020.
As many people have concluded, this is a time for civil society to lead the way, since our governments are not acting quickly enough. The campaign is a dynamic international effort collaborating with many other organizations in their climate change work. Key actions are now taking place in Brazil, where SWF is working with government officials to reduce deforestation by 80% by 2020.
Additionally, they are co-hosting a major conference in Washington, D.C. February 28 - March 3, 2010 to create an Urgency Coalition and working teams. For more details about the D.C. conference, please go to State of the World Forum worldforum.org.
Please contact Assistant Director, June Timberlake for any questions about the January 22 Women's Caucus gathering or the Washington D.C. Conference February 28-March 3 .
