Jan 20th Plant-In for Peace: We took out a Bush, now let’s Plant Peas!

January 20th, Wednesday on the one year anniversary of President Obama’s inauguration, bring your (hopefully) organic plants, especially pea sprouts and forget-me-nots, but any green living thing, seeds, starter sprouts, to these locations and times:

• 10am-1pm 12th St BART, Broadway & 12th, Oakland
• 11am-1pm Market and Powell San Francisco
• 12-1pm MRS, (Marine Recruiting Station) 64 Shattuck Sq Berkeley
• 12-2pm MacArthur BART, Oakland
• 4-6pm 16th & Mission San Francisco

Drop them off and/or come to help plant peace by handing out plants and info about HR3699, Barbara Lee’s bill to block funding of the proposed surge against Afghanistan. Call Ryan to help and for more info about the Plant-Ins 510-219-3349.

This action is part of our Jan 20th Day of Occupation Actions to END WAR NOW! See for more info or call 510-540-7007.

Last January 20th, 2009 many of us had high hopes change was going to happen – especially the change of ending war now. This first year under President Obama has unearthed how very deep the roots of war go!

2009: we have MORE U.S. troops occupying other people’s countries than any single year under Bush; we have allocated millions more for war than any annual military budget under Bush; we have launched 3 times as many drone attacks than all the years under Bush combined.

Congress will get ready to vote on this war supplemental next month. We MUST make our voices heard in order to be listened to. PLEASE join us in one or all of these actions Wednesday.
