Wednesday, December 9, 6:30 . The Alto Tunnel, an abandoned historic railroad tunnel, has long been considered an ideal route for connecting Mill Valley and Corte Madera, creating a safe, fast, and flat route for bicycle commuters, recreational riders, and pedestrians (see our Alto Tunnel FAQ page). This route would help get people out of their cars, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the local business districts of both Mill Valley and Corte Madera. The draft report of the Mill Valley to Corte Madera Bicycle and Pedestrian Corridor Study, which was funded by the Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Program, will be posted to the County of Marin's project webpage approximately 1 week prior to Public Workshop #2 at: http://walkbikemarin.org/projects_millvalley.php After the workshop, there will be an additional 30-day public comment period. Please attend this meeting to indicate your support for the safest and best design alternatives. We've been waiting over 10 years for this study – now is the time to get involved!
