EMERGENCY ACTION
Thursday, November 12 at 5pm at Montgomery BART - Stand Up for Reproductive Justice
We oppose the abortion ban included in the healthcare legislation passed this last weekend. The anti-choice, regressive Stupak-Pitt Amendment sends women back to pre-Roe v. Wade days when those with resources had options, and those without were forced to carry the burden without dignity, respect or support. BACORR absolutely condemns this any piece of legislation that institutionalizes sexism and puts women's reproductive health last.
Join us this Thursday as we stand our ground for reproductive justice and women's rights! We say no to sexism, racism and rightwing pressure on elected officials who essentially cave in to bigotry, gender inequality and discrimination based on sex. We demand universal healthcare, free abortion on demand and without apology, sex education that is non-moralistic, free birth control, an end to patriarchy, safe birthing centers that honor the labor of women, free pre- and post-natal care, an end to the forced sterilization of women of color, an end to discrimination based on sex, race, sexual preference, immigration status, age or ability...
