MADA: Israeli occupation forces disguise in photojournalists uniforms endangering the lives of journalists
The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) expresses
concern over the Israeli occupation forces disguise as photojournalists in
the middle of Palestinianprotesters, who were protesting the Israeli
practices against Al Aqsa Mosque, in the neighborhood of Ras al-Amud in
Jerusalem, on Thursday and Friday (8-9 October).
Awad Awad, chairman of the of Palestinian Photojournalist’s Committee, said
a group of citizens confirmed the involvement of a number of “Musta’rbeen”
(Israeli security forces unit usually dressed like Arabs), in the middle of
the demonstrators on Thursday and Friday, and they dressed as uniformed
photojournalists and have cameras, and arrested a number of young people.
MADA condemns the Israeli occupation forces disguise as photojournalists,
and consider it as violation of all international laws and charters, and
endangering the lives of the photojournalists. MADA calls on the
international community to pressure the Israeli government to stop these
practices.

NABLUS, (PIC)-- The Palestinian center for development and media freedoms "Mada" has condemned the Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) persistent assaults on journalists in violation of international laws and norms.
Mada, in a press release on Sunday, said that the IOF physical attacks on reporters represented a "rude" violation of the freedom of expression.
It charged that the IOF soldiers beat up those journalists because they want to publish the truth about the IOF violations of and aggression on the Palestinian people and land.
The center called for putting Israeli leaders and soldiers, who assault journalists, on trial, noting that the latest such attacks were against the cameramen of Reuters and AFP on Saturday in the village of Iraq Burin, south of Nablus city.
