9-11 Truthers make Pacifica a Laughingstock
Recent Nation article points out the laugh-ability of the recent Pacifica motion aimed at Democracy Now

The Nation has pointed out that Pacifica Board Rep Chris Condon and those with him have 'no clothes' when they passed an amendment expressing the suspicion that Amy Goodman may be taking money from the CIA in return for not covering 9-11 the way Codon expects.
It is a sad irony that Condon seeks to exert pressure on Democracy Now while maintaining that he is looking for transparency.
As the article states "As anyone who has listened to even five minutes of the program knows, Goodman is about as likely to be on the payroll of the CIA as Howard Zinn or Noam Chomsky. She has probably devoted more airtime to dissecting the CIA's transgressions in the past decade than any other member of her profession."
Further it states "The suspicions about Goodman would be laughable were they not coming from board members at an independent radio network with a proud history of promoting progressive dialogue and dissent."
And in the most plainly stated summary I have ever read, states the result of the fight for Pacifica in 1999.
"The struggle was successful, but the unintended consequence was to democratize Pacifica in a way that has ended up empowering many cranks. Instead of serving as a vibrant home for incisive programming that challenges the assumptions of mainstream debate, the network has fallen into the hands of sectarians and crackpots whose control over the Governance Committee may be strong but whose hold on reality appears tenuous."
It is those 'cranks', and 'crackpots' that seem to be in control of the Pacifica National Board and pending the outcome of last week's election may be in charge of KPFA as well.
Something to consider when you hear about the election results early next week.
Shows like Guns and Butter which continue to air the debunked several times over claims of the 9-11 truthers only futher empower those who would turn Pacifica into a sort of wild eyed Fox News of the Left.

You might have added Marvin Bush's name, George W's brother, as he appears on IMC news as one of the main buyers of the three buildings that went down on 911. One year after they purchased them, and the small cabal with him was reputed to have made three billion dollars over and above what they paid, from collecting the insurance on the "accident". Quite a sum for one years work. Probably about a million and a half dollars an hour for a forty hour work week, the whole year around.
The resolution was very reasonable: It asked that programmers reveal their sources of funding if over $5,000. That goes beyond the 9/11 Truth issue or Amy Goodman.
Amy Goodman and the Nation are Democratic Party mouthpieces and that is sufficient reason to avoid the Nation and treat Goodman's Democracy Now with less than 100% support. The Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, is a party of the capitalist class which carried out the 9/11 Inside Job, using the military to do the work. Their spokepeople in command were Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice & Giuliani. This was another Reichstag Fire, another Gulf of Tonkin incident (which the US ruling class has admitted never happened), a pretext for war and fascism to maximize the profits of the capitalist class.
As to Noam Chomsky, he is a strong supporter of the government's lies on the JFK assassination and the 9/11 Inside Job. He also opposes the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. His credibility is zero.
We knew 9/11 was an Inside Job as we saw it on TV as there was NO AIR DEFENSE. If you need more, there was the CONTROLLED DEMOLITION of the Twin Towers and Building 7, which was not hit by a plane. The whole world, including millions of Americans, knew immediately that 9/11 was an Inside Job, and now the 9/11 Truth Movement is much bigger than Pacifica. Problem with explanations in Popular Mechanics is that they defy the elemental laws of physics like conservation of energy.

I completely disagree with Irate Bystander. Even the 9/11 Commissioners are saying that they agreed to lie. The Pentagon lied, NORAD lied. No one has been held accountable. No one has been fired. Why are those people bogged down in finally proving to everyone that the 9-11 events were either planned, or were very convenient for those in power.
This understanding, and the minor details of what happened, shouldn't change political organizing and goals because all during the 20th century, the Department of Defense and the intelligence agencies (CIA/ FBI etc) have been involved in many covert actions that go against the democratic will of americans.
The excess focus on this incident almost suggests that they don't care about the assassinations of foreign leaders, the likely assassination of Kennedy by members of the CIA, illegal military aggression in other countries and a pages long list of illicit behavior.
9-11 is just another addition to the list, and I don't think the 9-11 truthers (who tend to be very paleoconservative, favoring a 'return to the constitution' - if you listen to the Alex Jones show and similar) have thought through what the next step is once the public believes them.

Dr. Griffin was unable to name any structural experts because at the time, in 2004, they were not willing to go public. The NIST report was still pending, and engineers would naturally have been reluctant to comment publicly before they knew what it said.

It'd be great I think if people would just look a little deeper into 9/11. My suspicion is that more than a few people would come up looking like conspiracy nuts, and this is exactly what scares people away from examining this critical day. There are really some incredible inconsistencies with the official version as presented by the corporate media, affirmed by the mainstream left, and tacitly accepted by the rest. Still a good third of Americans don't believe it. Bet ya didn't know that Charlie Sheen has been speaking out recently presenting questions about 9/11. Get on the Freedom train, people. Untangle from the web of double thought in which you currently wallow. Find your own truth. Amy Goodman won't give it to you. Guaranteed. She's a gate keeper. And the Nation as well as the rest of the left is riddled with Cointelpro and CIA. That's not to say that Amy is in any conscious way complicent. maybe. It's just that her organization, Democracy Now, and the Nation as well are funded by Foundations whose board members sit on Corporate Boards. The wear the names of the biggest tycoons ever known (the Carnegie and Rockefeller foundations), and people really think that the mainstream left press will ever print or publish anything remotely critical of the real power structure, well, they are living within a popular delusion. Matilda and others are repeating lines from the cultish edge of the 9-11 Truth circle. Alex Jones always makes this statement that Amy Goodman is a Gatekeeper with Foundation Money. Jones was at the democratic national convention, yelling at demonstrators accusing them of 'having foundation money', and this is so absurd that every time I hear other people saying it, you pretty much know they're soldiers for prisonplanet or infowars.com. They paradoxically accuse Goodman of promoting the democratic party agenda. Hello.

In response to the comment regarding how 9/11 truth will not change things, and how this is the way the US government has always been, and why does the 9/11 truth movement only care about 9/11 - I can only speak for myself, but for the American citizen who is unaware of how the government really works, what really happened on 9/11 is an awakening to the big picture. When I first started looking into 9/11, the questions I had regarding why have I not heard of this on the news, how could this have happened, who is responsible, brought me down many roads and to many truths I had no idea about. Because Americans were so affected by 9/11 the hope is that when the American citizen starts to investigate on their own, these other truths come out, including but not limited to "the assassinations of foreign leaders, the likely assassination of Kennedy by members of the CIA, illegal military aggression in other countries and a pages long list of illicit behavior."
Condon does indeed make ad homonym attacks against Amy. Though I might agree that Amy's books should be transparent, the claim that he knows what he'll find are unfounded. 1. Amy has an interest in avoiding nationalist faith/credibility issues that all Truthers have to deal with and journalists who want to be seen as credible try to avoid, and 2. she and Noam Chomski's opinions are that the event was not an inside job, and although Amy does not give details about her opinions on this topic, I have heard Noam say that he doesn't rule out the possibility that it's an inside job, and he also credits the Truth movement with asking some very good questions.
