From Arcata to Richardson Grove in three days! Join us for a bicycle adventure and help to bring awareness of the threats to OUR State Parks. Caltrans wants to rip a hole in the Redwood Curtain, don't let Caltrans destroy the natural heritage of the North Coast. Support local business and grassroots sustainability. Don't let Schwarzenegger terminate our State Parks!

Can't make it for the ride? Join us for a gathering and protection ceremony at Richardson Grove State Park at noon on Sunday October 4th.

Ride organizers will continue to bike to San Francisco via.
Hwy 1. All are welcome to continue with us!

Participants in the Redwood Curtain Bicycle Run must be self-prepared and self-reliant for this event. Because bicycle touring involves trade-offs between weight, safety, and equipment performance, these questions are entirely at the discretion of individual riders, who must take full responsibility for their choices. Helmets, front and rear lights, reflective vests, and proper footwear are strongly recommended. The tour will take place off of main highways and busy streets whenever possible, at the discretion of the organizers. Riders should consider riding single file when necessary, while staying visible and in groups. We encourage you to decorate your bicycle and yourself with positive messages for the cause, while keeping safety and visibility a priority. Food, gear, transportation home, etc. will not be provided. Stops for food and supplies can be made along the ride. We also encourage participants to plan ahead for rain and inclement weather. A list of recommended supplies can be found at http://saverichardsongrove.blogspot.com/.
