Come out and join the The Center for Lao Studies' First Annual Banquet: Spreading Wings, to commemorate their three years of leadership since the establishment of the Center for Lao Studies.
The evening will feature authentic Lao food and performances by Lao artists and celebrities:
--Lao Seri Nattasin, Bay Area traditional dance group,
--Amy Chanthaphavong, the 2009 Miss Asian America,
--Leilani Chan and Ova Saopeng performing excerpts from "Refugee Nation," and
--Ketsana, Queen of Lao pop.
CLS will highlight two important programs: the Summer Study Abroad in Laos (SAIL) and the Lao Oral History Archive (LOHA).
Mr. Torm Nompraseurt from the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN) is the keynote speaker.
After the presentations and show everyone is invited to join the Lao traditional Lamvong dancing with Achaan Khamtoun Vongsanith's band until 12 midnight.
Please come out. Everyone is welcome!
