Winner of 8 film festival awards, Occupation 101 is a powerful documentary. Telling human stories with a range of artistic visuals, this film could not be more timely. It depicts the current and historical causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, paying particular attention to U.S. government involvement. To provide a range of perspectives, Occupation 101 offers thought-provoking commentaries from a "Who's Who" list of leading Middle East scholars, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers—voices too often suppressed by American media outlets.
While the Tri-City Documentary Series always strives to present well-informed, engaging speakers, it is particularly pleased to announce that Barbara Lubin, founder and director of the Middle East Children's Alliance will lead this discussion. To update the film and place it in a larger context, Ms. Lubin will draw on her recent experiences with a relief convoy in Gaza.
