SEIU 1021 Field Dirctor Patti Tamura Stabs SEIU 1021 Shop Steward Nate Holmes In The Back

by SEIU Local 1021 Steward Nate Holmes
SEIU staffers including SEIU Field Rep Patti Tamura refused to file grievances over the illegal firing of Tenderloin Housing Clinic SEIU 1021 shop steward Nate Holmes. Tamura has refused to respond to calls from the fired steward and the union officials are apparently in bed with the boss Randy Shaw. They seem to be more interested in defending Shaw than standing up for the workers and fighting the racist attacks. Call Patty Tamura and ask her why she refuses to fight for SEIU 1021 steward Nate Holmes and won't even take his calls.

third Randy Shaw protest

From Nate Homes, SEIU shop steward at Tenderloin Housing Clinic

On July 30, 2009, I was informed by National Labor Relations Board agent that Randy Shaw is no longer willing to waive the time limitations in order to ensure that the arbitrator addresses the merits of the dispute. Therefore, the National Labor Relations Board will resume processing the charge. We { several union members at Tenderloin Housing Clinic} have been told by our union representative that SEIU 1021 attorneys were working on an arbitration date with THC attorneys. I have attempted to contact Field Director Pattie Tamura for months to get clarification about what the SEIU 1021 position is on going to arbitration, no call back. SEIU 1021 Field Director Tamura received a letter in June - no answer. This behavior indicates to me that Randy Shaw and the SEIU 1021 management have a cozy relationship at the expense of the rank and file workers at Tenderloin Housing Clinic. Apparently SEIU 1021 did not file for arbitration ------ SEIU reputation for not representing members is nothing new -- I filed charges against SEIU 1021 last year for not representing me. It's call a Duty of Fair Representation. The good fight goes on with Randy Shaw and SEIU 1021 in bed together. This should send a strong message to members about who 's really representing them but then when members receive intimidating and threatening messages like the Human Resources Department sends out to workers and no one stands up --- It"s a Shame. This is America --- we the people can no longer let these racist thugs and union busters violate our rights and stand by --- doing Nothing. Randy Shaw and SEIU 1021 WILL BE EXPOSED, THEY MUST DO THE RIGHT THING OR LEAVE OUR NEIGHBORHOODS.

A pattern is emerging where Randy Shaw is missing when these protests happen. The first part of the video shows Nate Holmes having a chat with current Tenderloin Housing Clinic senior property manager James Holland, who himself was promoted by Randy Shaw after a whole slew of senior management were fired after the last big scandal. Randy Shaw denied there ever was a problem at the Mission hotel, but never explained why so many senior management staff were fired after that article came out

Why is the firing illegal? What exactly is your case?

As a former SEIU officer and staff member, I wonder if Shop Steward Nate Homes knows how to file a grievance?

Nate Holmes allegation that SEIU Local 1021 and THC Management are in bed is completely false. The fact of the matter is that the Union fought very hard on his behalf to put him back to work. The problem is that Mr. Holmes acted like a "loose cannon" . A week after had already accepted a settlemetn agreement brokered by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service on April 10, 2009 to treansfer to another department, he continued to insist that THC management should fire a caucasian manage whom he passionately disliked. He continued to claim that he was a union shop steward eventhough members had already replaced him in a democratically election at the THC Housing Department. His lack of understanding about union representation and his ignorance about the process of grievance procedure made him looks like a fool. Please shot up and move on with your life, brother.

Hey I have to wonder if what this man is saying may actually be true, as for him being a loose cannon thats a term soft-shop stewards use as an excuse to not support their Union Brother. A soft-shop steward is a steward who has no cojones. It is simply more convenient to jump in bed with the management than to enforce the contract and use the grievance process and defend your brothers and sisters by telling management to kiss our ass. I was elected a shop steward at for SEIU Local 521 in December, 2012. My first time as a steward I had some experience, i know most of it is understanding your rights, and knowing your contract. But the former steward pretty much left me her notes and then off she went to another department. I solicited grievances kept my open for safety issues etc. January,2013 i went to interview a grievant and the grievant witness, and the accuser. Cut a long story short, next day im called into the office, manager rights me up, docks my pay, restricts me from being at job site when not scheduled and directs me to not speak to the workers i was representing. Well i don't about you but that was pretty much a violation of my protected rights. I went to the local 521 spoke to contract enforcer about grieving the manager,. He says we cant grieve unless it leads to a disciplinary action. I said F@#$% the disciplinary action, were passed that my rights were violated. Bottom line is I asked for help as i had reason to believe that a group of workers and the former steward were in bed with the management and that i was not being recognized as the steward, SEIU said they would send a new onsite rep to help. This airhead who was already in bed with the management comes and insteads leads a campaign to have me removed. I file with PERBS, and then retaliation starts up, they drove anyone who had supported me into fearing for there jobs, all the meanwhile this rep is patronizing me into believing she has Authority to have me removed. THIS woman must had been an ex KJ smoker. Marline Piedragosa, well I continued representing the workers , investigating and uncovered that registered sex offenders are being allowed to reside at the facility all without informing the surrounding community, as well as not informing the workers. Uncovered that some corrupt workers in bed with management were trying to fraud the county into reclassifying their codes. etc. I was placed on Admin leave with pay. returned to work rumor is that the management is telling the workers I am not the steward, all BS. I explained to my manager today i would be filing charges for allowing the managers to inform the workers i am not the steward. as the bases for the admin leave were bogus and was cleared , and all though they pretty much have the workers scared again, really believe that with the help of the reps they got now can convince me to believe that i'm no longer the steward. My coworker informed the management that he wanted me to represent him again they were told im no longer the steward. Why because i refuse to jump in bed with management. SO do i believe that SEIU is bed with the management hell ya, unless someone can convince me different; Unless SEIU calls this facility Evans Lane Wellness and Recovery Center and represents me like they should be doing. I am suing them for a full refund of my dues and i will petition for the workers to have another bargaining unit represent us.
