Midway, Hunters Point the Schalge Lock Site all form the Toxic Triangle in San Francsico.
Midway situated by Geneva Street near the Cow Palace. Hunters Point Naval Shipyard the well know site where DEPLETED URANIUM was tested, and the on going deconstruction at former Schalge Lock Company - form the Toxic Triangle right here in San Francisco. Add, to that over 400 toxic hot spots. Now right center of all these toxic sites without through clean up - over 30,000 units are planned to be built - all in the pipeline.
The Main Media has not reported a word about over 30,000 housing units in the pipe line to be built in the area surrounded by Midway by Geneva Street where thousands have suffered and hundreds died from the toxic soil surrounding a Pacific Gas and Electric former and present - operations.
The present sub-station owned and operated bombards an entire area with an Electro-Magnetic Field that affects all those directly within a 3 mile area. Most of the folks affected like on this side of Geneva Street and San Francisco.
Then there is the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard a Superfund Site that has NOT been cleaned up. Recently, California Senator Leland Yee, and Assembly Person Fiona Ma and Tom Ammiano mandated the over 1.5 million tons of toxic soil be removed.
Mayor Gavin Newsom wants the area capped so that he can build his fancy stadium. Never mind the 49ers want to stay in Santa Clara and are not interested in Mayor Gavin Newsom devious ploys and machinations.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has been HUSH about this situation. The United States Navy polluted the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and it is the responsibility of the United States Navy to clean up the entire Shipyard.
Proposition P in the year 2000 voted by over 87% of the voting constituents - voted in favor of Prop P that mandated the entire Hunters Point Naval Shipyard be cleaned. No one is paying attention to Proposition P which is law.
Over 10,500 homes are planned to be built in and around Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. Never mind it is NOT clean and never mind this was the site where Depleted Uranium was tested:

At Huntersview over 267 units are going to be demolished. Most of the folks have been evicted and over 80% of the homes at Huntersview at boarded up.
The plan is to build over 887 units of which only about 20 will be given to low income and no income. The proposed gated community is planned and the population that lives there now - will no longer be allowed to live.
There is NO Transportation Document addressing sound transportation. There is no sound Environmental Impact Report. Less then 400 feet lies the Parcel A with all the hazards that have been report here on Indymedia:

At the former Schalge Lock Company plans are afloat to built over 2500 housing units. Never mind the near by Brisbane Petroleum Tanks that emit harmful gases and toxic fumes. The over 2000 tons of methane gas that spews from the Brisbane Landfill and other particulates.
The Old Bayshore leading to Third Street has millions of vehicles that ply on this route and tons of very dangerous particulates spew in the air.
It is a shame that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and especially the Land Use Chair Sophie Maxwell is asleep on these critical issues. Very little debate. And when some one tries to bring these issues to the fore - the information is surpressed and all this in the year 2009.
We just cannot think of building over 30,000 units and not address Quality of Life issues. We just cannot permit people to build homes in the middle of Chernobyl and live surrounded by toxicity and other very harmful conditions.
Add to the above over 20,000 units are Sunnydale as part of the HOPE SF which is a program to hoodwink the poor and gentrify the entire area.
There are forces out there the same ones that spear headed the sub-primes loans and so on that want to force poor people out and gentrify the entire area. Their GREED knows no bounds.
While is it evident we have thousands of homes in foreclosure in the San Francisco area and surround areas - the San Francisco Board of Supervisors see nothing wrong building these homes by very corrupt entities like the John Stewart Company, Mercy Housing, and Bridge Development.
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) has failed the community.
Recently Stop Lennar Action Movement force the BAAQMD to fine Lennar over $515,000. This money was ear-marked to test the children, elders, other adversely impacted by the toxic dust bombing by Lennar. It has been over 9 months now and nothing is happening.
The BAAQMD perfers to spend the money having Dog and Pony show where outsides mostly Blacks from Oakland and elsewhere - who have no sense of history and the pollution of the community are trying to hoodwink the community.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisor better deal with Lennar and those Regulatory Agency like the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic and Substances Control, the San Francisco Health Department, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the Water Regional Board, other local, State and Federal organizations that are doing nothing much to address Health Issues Facing the Community of the Bayview Hunters Point and more San Francisco.
Lennar's fancy plans are conceptual plans. When you wake up, you may face your worst nightmare:
