Eyewitness Iran Forum
The Iranian Election & U.S. Aims in the Middle East
• What were the real differences between the two leading candidates Mir Hosein Moussavi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the Iranian election?
• Why are politicians and the corporate media so sympathetic to anti-government protests in Iran and so hostile to progressive protests here?
• What are the real aims of the U.S. ruling establishment in the Gulf region? How has the U.S./CIA been intervening in Iran?
• What should the position of progressive people in the U.S. be on what is happening in Iran today?
Featured Speakers:
Nazila Bijari and Mazda Majidi are Iranian-American activists and organizers in the ANSWER Coalition. They have been in Iran during the time of the election and for several weeks afterwards. Discussion will follow their presentations.
