The Grannies and their allies came out to counter some TEA = Taxed Enough Already "tea party" participants. That's the same group that demonstrated with their "Don't Tread on Me" pro-gun/anti-immigrant theme last April 15. This time, killing health care reform was at the top of their agenda.
Health insurance companies have declared war on reform, in fact, they are doing everything in their power to strangle health care reform. Angry “tea party” protesters are now joining forces with the insurance companies to try to quash any change to the system...especially anything that would hurt insurance company profits!
Tea party folks want to change NOTHING about the health care crisis; even though the health care status quo is a disaster!
The Grannies asked them, why not join us since you are so concerned about saving money for Americans? Help us by supporting single payer – a nationalized health care system that will save us $400 billion a year.

These ladies are great, but they are not alone in trying to get the word out about HR 676. I have seen numerous bits of Graffiti on HR 676 around my area. I figure if the taggers are getting into the act then HR 676 has pretty much won the hearts and minds of America. It seems that it is only the cold corporate hearts of those paper people that haven't caught onto to it yet.
