Dr. Conn Hallinan presents a comprehensive and educational forum on "The Afghan Rubik's Cube." Hallinan, currently an analyst at Foreign Policy in Focus, will discuss the complexity of the situation in Afghanistan, to which President Obama is preparing to deploy 21,000 troops. Hallinan, who views Obama's strategy with skepticism, likens the scene in Afghanistan to "that frustrating puzzle of intersecting blocks that only works when everything fits perfectly." Hallinan formerly ran the journalism program at UC Santa Cruz and helps select the articles published in Project Censored's annual compilation of underreported stories.
