Andrew Barlow (Prof. Sociology, UCB) is the author of the highly regarded book. "Between Fear and Hope: Globalization and Race in the United States." He will explore the way in which globalization is transforming American society, creating paradoxical conditions that both bring people together and drive them apart. He will also examine the current economic crisis, and the responses to it, which he maintains are opening up new possibilities for social justice today..
