Alternative Media Coalition invites you to a night of edgy, fresh and alternative journalism in the form of short documentaries and narrative films made by Roger Hill, co-founder of Mental-Rev Productions.

Program:

*Next Generation*: Two young women learn a dramatic lesson about the limitations of personal freedom in the United States. Shot in San Francisco on March 19, 2008 during a day of Direct Action to stop the Iraq War. (5minutes, 2009)

*Equality: *The nationwide struggle to secure or deny Marriage Rights to Same Sex Couples. (8 Minutes 2008)

*Spouse & Spouse*: While the son of a Lesbian couple high fives an African American man raising signatures for the Repeal Prop 8 campaign, 7 California Supreme Court Justices sit in judgment on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 and ultimately the futures of California's same sex couples. (7 Minutes 2009)

*Aim to the Face and Shoot*: An Israeli Soldier advises another to "Aim to the Face" when firing at non-violent protesters. (1 minute 2009)

*Homeless Love*: Filmed on location in graffiti-daubed San Francisco and Oakland alleys, this documentary-within-a-narrative musical defies categorization. Kat, a young poet living rough, pours her grief and isolation out on paper as she tries to process the recent death of her boyfriend. She starts documenting her surroundings, videotaping interviews about love with the homeless people she encounters. As she absorbs their heart-wrenching stories, she is deeply touched by one star-crossed couple in particular. Poignantly reminded of her own lost love, she tries to reach out and reconnect them before it is too late. (10 Minutes, 2008)

*Mystery Short Film about Community Struggles in Palestine and/or Lebanon* -(15 minutes)
