“The Truth behind the original Malcolm X Mural and what it represents…”
-Panel featuring artist: Refa 1 This will be a multimedia presentation and discussion on the events that followed during the original Malcolm X mural that was uncovered here at San Francisco State University.
3:00p.m. - 5:30p.m., Jack Adams Hall
-Film: Life and Death of Malcolm X
This will be a film screening about the life of Malcolm X followed by a discussion afterwards. Light refreshments and drinks
6:00p.m. - 8:30p.m., Jack Adams Hall
-Panel: Mobilizing the Bay: Local Organizing Efforts in the Struggle for Justice
This panel will feature special guests that will talk on issues of Gentrification, the death of Oscar Grant, and Environmental Racism. Speakers: * Alicia Garza from P.O.W.E.R. (People Organizing to Win Employment Rights) * Dr. Dawn-Elissa Fischer, Africana Studies Department * Student Organizer from San Francisco State University
