Our project, the Centro Autónomo para la Creación Intercultural de Tecnologías Apropiadas- CACITA, (or the Autonomous Centre for the Intercultural Creation of Appropriate Technologies), for those who don’t know of us that well, is an self-sustaining project. Meaning, we don’t receive any kind of support from governmental, or international cooperation programs. We are a place of work in constant development, experimentation, and production of appropriate technologies, such as bicycle machines, solar ovens, dry compost bathrooms, building and constructing with natural materials, humanure and worm compost production, rain water catchments, natural filtration, and human-power pumping systems, community sustainable agriculture, recycled alternative fuels, and wind and bicycle powered electrical generators; to name a few.
