CodePINK MMMEG (Monthly Monday Meet, Eat & Greet) Teach-in on Afghanistan is this Monday, April 20th 6:00pm Mudraker's Café, Berkeley.
We are so fortunate to have Max Dashu presenting a slide show which will help us form a broad foundation as we look at ancient to present-day Afghanistan; and Janet Weil presenting a 'modern' perspective including information about Malalai Joya, the most courageous woman in Afghanistan . We have invited Neda Raheem to present her power point of the last 30 years of Afghanistan.
This Teach-In is vital, especially in light of our president’s goal to send 30,000 MORE U.S. troops into Afghanistan, and his even more recent 'supplemental' request for an additional $84 BILLION dollars, of which about $25 BILLION is earmarked for the occupation of Afghanistan.
We will also present information about our 30,000 Bikes and More Endeavor that we are working on and need YOUR help – to send real aide to Afghanistan, NOT soldiers.
PLEASE RSVP TODAY, Friday, April 17th, if you'd like to be part of this Afghanistan Teach-in MMMEG! Email info bayareacodepink.org or call 510-540-7007.
6:00pm, Mudraker's Cafe, 2801 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley It is $13 for a scrumptious all-you-can-eat Mediterranean buffet and fundraiser - no one turned away for lack of funds.
