Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc. presents the annual Carnaval San Francisco King & Queen Competition at Café Cocomo, 650 Indiana, San Francisco on Friday, May 15 at 8:00 pm. Contestants representing all Carnaval traditions - Brazilian, Caribbean, Traditional and World/Fusion - will vie for the coveted titles. The winners win $500 cash each and reign over the Grand Parade on Sunday, May 24.

Besides the fierce dance competition, live entertainment by Tambores Remelexo (Reggae and Afro Brazilian drumming); farewell performance by current King Everett & Queen Kellita; Aquarela Dancers and music for dancing by popular world beat DJ Vanka and soca spinning DJ SpinCycle. Special surprise guest emcee from Trinidad along with guest judge and former Carnaval Queen DJ Sylvia Chacon from Star 101.3. Lots more. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 cash at the door.
