Demand Peace Vigil: Saturday Vigil at 6:30 pm

by Dan Bacher
Debra Reiger, Sacramento Area peace activist, asks you to demand peace now!
This Saturday, April 11, is the 2nd Saturday Art Walk in downtown Sacramento. There is a good free-speech corner at 20th and J Streets, and we have been using that corner to remind the community that peace is possible but much work is needed. That's why our event slogan continues to be 'DEMAND PEACE NOW!'

It's at 6:30. The weather should be nice, but maybe a little cool.

2nd Saturday is a very popular event in Sacramento and being there gives the peace community a chance to interact with people that we don't typically see in our daily activities. It's a good time to show what we believe and sometimes talk with passers-by who wonder what we are worried about. Or people who agree and stop to hold signs.

Parking is easier before 6:30. I can almost always get parking a few blocks north of J St. Lots of good restaurants, if you go early and eat before the event.

Use our signs or bring your own. If it gets dark while we are there I will hand out glow sticks. I hope to see you there.

Peace,
Debra
