Caravan for Justice Two and there will be more until the VOICES of the PEOPLE - prevail.

by Francisco Da Costa
For too long, have too many innocent people mostly of color - suffered too many injustices at the hands of the Oppressors. Now, we the PEOPLE demand justice - one of the ways is to STRIKE - unjust laws - like the THREE STRIKES LAW. Let the people sound a CLARION call for better schools and less prisons. Let the people make the Law Makers - truly represent the people and not permit them - not to have the better - interests, of the community at large.
It is always nice to see people of color gather in any place as FREE - women, men, and children and make their presence known to those that have with INTENT abused their freedom and practiced LICENSE.

It is always nice to see people of color - dress well, walk tall and send a clear message to those that adversely impact the innocent and those that cannot defend themselves - that this nonsense must stop - now.

Caravan for Justice Two - was such a CLARION call sent all over California that the time has come to REPRESENT ourselves - our law makers have broken the Sacred Trust - taken our votes that elected them and thrown them in the dust bin of injustice.

One such law that has incarcerated thousands of women and men in California - is the unjust - Three Strikes Law. This law must be repealed and all those incarcerated unfairly using this dubious law - compensated.

For two long have " We the PEOPLE " permitted rogue law makers to favor Correctional Officers and other Law Enforcement agencies and institutions that have with INTENT - arrested those that cannot defend themselves and thrown them in jails.

The jails are the Slave Plantation of contemporary times - and we the people have failed to unite and speak out with authority.

If those that represent us - the so called politicians fails us - we must remove them from office - even if they are in office - recall the scum bags and send them packing where they belong - in the cesspool of their own choosing.

District Attorneys and the Judges have been quick to send young women and men to jail - based on the Three Strikes Law that is faulty and on the books.

Many a time for years for crimes that have been heaped on the innocent - just to fill the jails and keep the Correctional Officers working. These evil Correctional Officers maker huge salaries and most of them - have blood on their hands.

The Governor of California was flown to Hana, Hawaii to be wined and dined by the Correctional Officers - some years ago - to favor the Correctional Officers and give them perks. Subsequently, the Governor in recent months has found out that not all that he was told was the truth.

Two reputable Federal judges ordered over 58,000 inmates released from the California jails that have prisoners stacked every where - even in gyms with no heat and in conditions that are are unhealthy and unsafe. Many for petty crimes that do not need lengthy prison stays.

If California were to heed the decisions of these two Judges with authority - California would stand to save $2.4 billion and more.

The State of California is in the hole - and this saved money - could be used to provide critical services to our children, our elders, and those that need help most.

Tax money taken by the State and which was earmarked for Cities and Counties for Transportation for example - have been cut. San Francisco stands to receive millions for Operations of our MUNI system - but this money will not be coming. Thus adversely affecting our Public Transportation in San Francisco.

Other tax money is due - but Cities and Counties in California have been told that this time around the money is not forth coming.

Yet, California and the politicians in Sacramento - will vouch for the California Correctional Officers, the ploys, and machinations - daily treating many or our prisoners - with disdain and in less then human conditions. Correction Officers will shoot to kill - no questions asked and be backed up by the unfair - judicial system.

Thousands of mothers, father, sisters, brothers, relatives, friends - mourn over this injustices - and weekly some dies - and there is no justification - from the criminals that run the jails and pose as Correctional Officers. One has just to review their web sites - to learn about their views and more their unjust tactics.

Caravan for Justice Two - brought thousands at the steps of the Capitol in Sacramento and with one voice the PEOPLE proclaimed that we will not surrender our rights to those that abuse our RIGHTS - daily in our homes, in the streets, in places that are safe havens but where many Law Enforcement - corrupt personnel choose to come, and abuse the rights of the citizens of California and the the United States of America.

This time around the Latino community and others heard many of their leaders - speak against the abuses perpetuated against the immigrants.

Many Latino leaders announced loudly that they will stand UNITED - with their BLACK sisters and brothers, their ASIAN sisters and brother, Native Americans, decent Whites, others - and that in unity - will not tolerate injustice.

The voices of the Polynesians were heard and in unison they proclaimed in no uncertain terms that they coming from the many Pacific Islands and Hawaii and other places - stand in UNITY against those - mostly unjust law makers that constantly deprive the innocent and those that cannot defend themselves - of their due rights.

It was strange to see Law Enforcement on their horses, on top of the Capitol Roof, helicopters hovering, plain clothes Law Enforcement that could not look you in the eye. Others - in uniform feeling uneasy as the leaders - articulated well - and put these persons - on notice.

We are not foolish to say that all Law Enforcement are bad - but, we will be very bold to state - by far most of them - do not uphold the law and use the power of the gun and in force with other law enforcement officers - often come hard on many an innocent - constituent.

The family of Oscar Grant was there.

Can you imagine NOT one single politician has approached the family and offered them a Resolution or something to that affect. After all Oscar Grant was shot in cold blood. We do have several videos as proof - but even that proof has blinded the hand of justice - and as the days go by - fabrications and false hood - seem to rule in the halls of justice in Oakland.

The many speakers were well received in Sacramento today - and there was a clarion call sent - loud and clear for all to hear - we are coming again and again.

Judging from the applause and the clapping the people by large - want to change the unjust laws, they want to engage the law makers and those in power - that have failed to take the PULSE of the people at large. The people united will NOT be defeated.

Walking and taking photographs - I saw several mothers, sisters, brothers, and fathers, relatives wipe a tear. When asked if anyone in the crowd knew of anyone close to them that was incarcerated, was innocent and suffering in jail - many hands went up.

The Courts cannot keep on sending thousands to the jails. California is now making it a business to send many of the inmates to other States. Incarceration is a trillion dollar business and connected with GREED. Huge companies have been raking in the money. Those that lobby the politicians fill their coffers with the blood money.

San Quentin should be shut and the whole establishment blown up. Prisoners there live in sordid conditions and this has been going on for years. In other jails the situation is even worse.

California has been slow to build good schools and has treated our teachers like dirt.

Well, things must change. Those in prison - if what the Correctional Officers say is correct - and judging from the thousands spent each year on each prisoner - most of the prisoners could have completed a College Degree or released with skills that can be used in Society.
But, this does not seem to be the case.

After all the purpose is to rehabilitate those in jails and not make monsters of those that were not when they went in.

Killings and raping in the prisons is common. Death is common - if the " thug" Correction Officers - want to kill you - they could poison you, shoot you, keep you in the cold so that you die of cold, fail to give you medications - they could do any of the above and more.

Most of those gathered today - April 8, 2009 - look forward to our next trip to Sacramento.

The Caravan for Justice - is growing and we are a force to be reckoned with.
