Tune into Channel 13 on your analogue TV set (use your antenna

‘Rising Pirates’ a bay-area group of climate campaigners and culture-jammers are broadcasting an ‘alternative’ schedule on April 1st, including:

• The science and issues behind climate change
• Direct action ideas to topple the fossil fuel empire
• The G20 meeting, which takes place this week in London

“The mainstream media is not covering the issues we want to learn about and discuss. So we’re taking direct action and broadcasting for ourselves.” said a spokesperson from Rising Pirates.

“San Francisco residents will be able to watch the programs by tuning into Channel 13 on their analogue TV sets from 2pm on April 1st. Since the digital TV switchover, you can purchase an analogue TV for an extremely reasonable price – they are currently available for sale for as little as $1 on street corners throughout the city.”

This transmission is part of Fossil Fools – a global day of action on Climate Change.

It's not often the relatively low-volume Hummer brand adds a new model. But that's exactly what the GM division has done for the 2009 model year, with the debut of the H3T pickup.

The H3T has a longer wheelbase than the H3 -- offering a more usable bed than the one found in the H2 SUT -- and its bed offers 5 feet of usable space. The H3T also features a standard bedrail system and four in-bed storage compartments, with a number of Hummer accessories available at Hummer dealerships.

The truck pictured is the H3T Alpha model -- which swaps the standard H3's inline-five for a V8, among other changes -- so look for the Alpha trim-level to be offered along side the H3T when the truck hits showrooms in the second half of 2008.

GM announced plans to produce the truck in October. 'The H3T is unique for HUMMER because it is the brand's first true pickup," said Troy Clarke, GM Group Vice President and GM North America President. "

The H3T's production location is GM's Shreveport plant, with annual production targeted to total about 35,000 units.
