Open Call: organizers, ideas & workshops for a San Francisco free school
Free schools are sprouting up all along the coast from Vancouver to the East Bay, so why not here in the city! If you are interested in bringing decentralized, anti-authoritarian community education to San Francisco please read below.
I just created a listserv for organizing, http://groups.google.com/group/sffreeschool and I'm working on securing a domain and web space, please join if you're interested! I would love to have a meeting in the next two weeks to iron out core principles and challenges, get classes started in early April and look for ways to collaborate with other bay area free schools, including those in the East Bay and Santa Cruz.
Food for thought:
What types of classes would you like to see?
What are some workshops you might be able to facilitate?
Where can we hold classes? How can we work around space constraints & the expense of this city?
