At 9PM on March 18th, the eve of the 6th anniversary of the war in Iraq, a group of persons wearing masks smashed the windows and splattered red paint at the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Center in Berkeley, California.

The center has been the target of protests for the last 18 months, and stands as a symbol of U.S. militarism and imperialist wars. The act of property distruction stands alone as the embodyment of frustration of a people whos government does not listen to or care about them.

Police have not made any arrests but are reviewing the tape, said Sgt. Mary Kusmiss. A sledgehammer and a crowbar were found in a nearby garbage can nearby, and are being reviewing as evidence. After breaking windows and improving the Marine Corps logo at the center, the group wearing masks and dark clothing scattered in three different directions, police said.

As of the time of this posting, no one involved has been arrested. The act was easy. You and a few friends could have pulled it off any day.

NO MORE IMPERIALIST WARS!!!

NO MORE GOVERNMENT!!!

SMASH THE STATE!!!

Be careful posting photos of an action is being posted about online. i understand you are saying someone else did, which i hope is true, because digital photos have all kinds of revealing information that you cannot see. They contain data along with them called EXIF data that can be traced back to the camera. Most cameras include the serial number of the camera, also. From what I can see on your EXIF data, for example, shows me that you used a Cannon Powershot SD750 as well as the date and time it was taken. There are plenty of computer programs that will delete the EXIF data from photos for you. I recommend you find one online and use it before posting photos like this on the web.

If the cops do come knocking, (whether or not you had anything to do with the window breaking) don't let them trick you into talking. Just say "You can talk to my lawyer" (you don't actually need to have a lawyer for this to work), and if they keep trying to get you to talk, just keep repeating it. So, that's not the marine recruiting station in that video, its a bank. What's that all about?
by thinker
Let's see...
1) taxpayer money will be used to replace the windows and remove the paint;
2) taxpayer money will be used to review the videotape and investigate this crime;
3) if caught, taxpayer money will be used to prosecute and incarcerate the criminals;
4) this will not change the President's mind about current U.S. conflicts;
5) this will not change the military establishment clauses of the U.S. constitution to have an army/navy for national defense;
6) this will not make anyone regret former choices about going to war or being a part of the military;
7) this has only increased the volume of violence in the world, not decreased it.
Be a thinker next time!

windows dont suffer from violence; ever thought of that thinker? who does suffer from violence? my brothers and sisters in arms who were swindled into dying for lies. those who didnt die, like me, still suffer from the effects of the war everyday whether awake or having nightmares. also, iraqis and afghanis who were killed and maimed for profit and resources that we the subjects of the empire benefit from. honestly, as a vet who got fucked over by these pogue ass clowns (non combat personnel) this brings a smile to my face. but i guess some would rather cry for non living windows than dead soldiers or dead iraqis.

Taxpayer's money is also going towards a ridiculous bailout and a ridiculous war. I'd rather have taxpayer's money go to the laborers replacing the glass and cleaning off the paint.

This was a very immature act which accomplished nothing.
