On Saturday, March 7, 2009, a panel of activists from the San Francisco health care reform group "Single Payer Now" will answer 40 questions in 40 minutes about SB 810, the California Universal Health Care Act, legislation that would cover everyone in our state, and remove the insurance industry from our health care system. When: Saturday, March 7, 2009, 3 pm Where: Centro Del Pueblo, 474 Valencia Street (at 16th Street) in San Francisco Who: Jim Cowan, retired librarian and SF for Democracy member Fran Devlin, RN, Nurse Practitioner, Health Activist Ian McLean, past VP of American Federation of Government Employees local 1923 and worked for many years in the federal/state Medicaid program Rory Michaelis, biostatistician at a global clinical research firm Eileen Wampole, SF Labor Heritage Rockin' Solidarity Chorus, retired SF Public Librarian Don Bechler, Chair, Single Payer Now, past officer of Machinist locals 565 & 1781. The health reform advocates featured in this free community forum will answer 40 of the most frequently asked questions about SB 810. They will also likely field and answer questions about current efforts by Presdent Obama to reform health care in the US Congress. |
