I.C.E. Protest at CSUF
About 50 students at Fresno State University protested today outside of a job fair held at the satellite student union. Protestors were opposed to the recruiting of students by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security. This was the 3rd annual Federal Government Job Fair at Fresno State and the first time a protest was held at the event. Photos and an interview with two of the participants are below.

(Fresno, CA) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), part of Department of Homeland Security, will be at the 3rd annual Federal Government Job Fair to recruit college students. For the last six years ICE has been invading neighborhoods, using racial profiling and kidnapping people who they consider to be “illegal”. ICE holds immigrants in corporate “for- profit” concentration camps, where they are denied medical care, given tainted food leading to food poisoning, and allowing over 80 people to suffer and die in their custody since 2003. ICE officials establish illegal traffic checkpoints, stalk community members of color, raid grocery stores, work places, schools and daycares; creating an environment of fear for citizens and non- citizens alike. Community members and Students of Fresno State will be representing and voicing the concerns of our disenfranchised communities outside of the Satellite Student Union and informing students of other career opportunities that build safe and peaceful communities.
