VEGETARIAN COOKING CLASS – THE JOY OF VEGAN BAKING

Join us in our tenth year teaching classes, as we feature delicious but uncomplicated recipes, debunk myths regarding plant-based eating, and eat yummy food samples. Register in advance online at http://www.compassionatecooks.com or call 510-531-COOK and join us at the First Unitarian Church of Oakland, 685 14th St. at Castro. Wheelchair accessible. $55 (in advance), plus $5 food/materials fee (due on day of class). There are discounts for signing up for three classes at a time. Fees include demonstration, food samples, copies of recipes, coupons for restaurants and local groceries, resources and much more.

UPCOMING BAKING CLASS FOR February 28th, 2009 - SATURDAY 10am-1pm
Whether you want to bake dairy- and egg-free for health, ethical, or environmental reasons, The Joy of Vegan Baking cooking class, based on the award-winning cookbook, will show you how you can have your cake and eat it, too! Free of saturated fat, cholesterol, and lactose, but full of flavor, flair, and familiarity, each and every recipe will have you declaring "I can't believe it's vegan!" Join Compassionate Cooks' (http://www.compassionatecooks.com) founder Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, author of the award-winning cookbook, The Joy of Vegan Baking (http://www.joyofveganbaking.com), in her monthly fun-filled cooking classes that celebrate healthful and humane eating that features local, seasonal, mostly organic ingredients.

On February 28th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm, she will demonstrate five fantastic recipes, including:
