Acción Zapatista Davis will presents John Gibler, author of Mexico Unconquered: Chronicles of Power and Revolt, on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 pm in 226 Wellman Hall, U.C. Davis.

JOURNALIST & ACTIVIST JOHN GIBLER, author of Mexico Unconquered: Chronicles of Power & Revolt
Tuesday FEBRUARY 3rd at 7:30 pm in 226 Wellman Hall.
This event will feature a presentation by the author, as well as photos and video clips related to the book.
Journalist & activist John Gibler will be discussing his new book Mexico Unconquered: Chronicles of Power & Revolt (City Lights, 2008).
Gibler's book is the product of several years of on-the-ground reporting from Mexico, where he witnessed the period of political upheaval surrounding the 2006 elections, the Zapatista's Other Campaign, and the rise of narco-related violence throughout the country. A Global Exchange Fellow from 2006-2008, Gibler has published extensively in many publications, including Z Magazine, In These Times, Left Turn, New Politics, and Colorlines, and has been featured several times on Democracy Now!.
This event is free and open to any campus/community members who are interested in attending.

DIRECTIONS:
From 1-80, exit Richards Boulevard North (Downtown Davis) and turn Left onto First St (after the tunnel).
First St leads straight to campus which is on the corner of First St and A St.
There is free parking on the neighborhood streets (look out for some permit restrictions).
Wellman Hall is located on the west side of the Quad, and can be reached by walking west on First St. (which become Shields Avenue after A St), and turning right at the second street (West Quad Ave). Wellman Hall is the second building on the left side.
ADDITIONAL PARKING INFO:
Paid Visitor Parking is available on campus by turning off of Russell Blvd onto Howard Way (North Entry Parking Structure) as well as by turning off of Russell Blvd onto California Ave.
From First St you can reach Russell Blvd by turning right on A St and turning left onto Russell St (stoplight just past 4th St.)
