Raging Grannies Return to Facebook HQ

by Protest Discrimination Against Nursing Moms (info [at] raginggrannies.com)
On our second visit to protest Facebook's discrimination against breastfeeding moms, we were greeted by many Facebook employees who wanted to pose with us for photos. They encouraged us to get a Facebook page...we tried to explain to them that we won't play into the hands of corporations... that drew some blank looks, so we sang them our song about Riseup.net.

Rise UP!
tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean
by: Granny Ruth

Oh Facebook you 'dis us so badly
You de-ni-grate the female form
You go in and take out nice photos
When WILL you learn breasts are not porn!

CHORUS
Rise up, Rise up!
Demand Facebook cease their opPRESsive ways
Rise up, Rise up
We women will rise up today!

They're WO-men who're feeding their babies
The way nature meant it to be
Yet Facebook says that's pornographic
Is their so-called "service" so "free"?

CHORUS

There are other options to Facebook
Where HU-mans rule THE internet
We'll fight for our cyberspace freedom
Let's ALL go join riseup dot net~!

Listen, Facebook!

tune: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Listen Listen Facebook here
We just want to make things clear
You say breastfeed-ING is porn
Don't you know that it's the norm
nursing needs our full support
read the medical reports

Nursing helps the babies grow
Builds immunities you know
Boosts the IQ builds the jaw
The bestest thing you ever saw
Misplaced prudery's to blame
Facebook's censorship's a shame

When they came out for lunch they all wanted to take photos...to put on their Facebook pages, duh.

It's decided on a case by case basis says Brandy...so we asked her about the trashy photos of teenagers making suggestive poses on Facebook. Those are okay, I guess?

Also a Facebook employee, he said it was okay to take his photo and he helped us carry some of our stuff even.

After a while we had to sit down and rest, but we continued to sing to all who passed by! Darn wish we had photos of some of the people that thanked us, especially moms with kids. Most were unaware of Facebook's censorship.
