South Bay Against LGBQTI Hate Crimes

by Solidarity!
On the internet and on the street against hate crimes directed at our community!

The Rainbow Women's Chorus belted out songs of dignity. Dean Harpster--with bare feet and beautiful voice--led a rousing version of "We Shall Overcome". The Raging Grannies emcee'd the event and kept the crowd engaged with their *straight but not narrow* supportive singing.

Rev. Michael Ellard of the San Jose Metropolitan Community Church led our moment of silence for Richmond Jane Doe.

Granny Gail wrote this song to the tune of *America the Beautiful*

O beautiful for hate free skies
Free from brutality
where all are free to live and love
and know equality
America America, see what we hope for thee
that some day soon our brothers and
our sisters know true peace

O beautiful variety of colors language too
Of gender choices that reflect to thine own self be true
America, america see what we hope for thee
That all may know diversity
lived in security
§Equality is the goal
