Thursday Jan 8th, 2009 6:46 PM
Just after 5pm, a group of several hundred protesters left the rally for Oscar Grant at Fruitvale BART station and headed up International Blvd towards downtown Oakland.
This short video ends before the march cut over at 9th Ave to East 12th Street, still heading toward downtown. At Lake Merritt, the group cut through a Henry J. Kaiser parking lot access road, heading towards Laney College and the Lake Merritt BART station. Not long after passing Lake Merritt BART, a goup of people attacked a police car, riot cops released tear gas on the march, and hours of stand-offs with police, and cat and mouse through the streets of Oakland, began.
