Santana Row Shoppers Never Saw a Protest Like this!
Between a thousand and two thousand marchers showed that San Jose and Santa Clara County residents will not stand for the Israeli attack on Gaza! Many of them moved from a rally that spanned the intersection of Stevens Creek and Winchester's busy biways to tony Santana Row where high end shoppers were treated to a scene like no other.
Santana row covers about a square mile of prime real estate in San Jose and is completely privately owned. (When did our streets turn into private shopping centers?) In recent years the site has become a site for anti-war protests, making the rent-a-cops shudder. Today's demo was by far the biggest and noisiest the shopping district has ever seen. Save our streets from becoming shopping hell!
