On the 50th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution (January 1, 1959), Gloria La Riva and Sharat G. Lin discuss its significance, its lessons, and the challenges it faces from hostile U.S. policy.

Gloria La Riva has led many delegations to Cuba. She is a union and antiwar organizer, coordinator of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, and was the 2008 presidential candidate of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
Sharat G. Lin is with the San José Peace and Justice Center. He writes on global political economy, labor migration, the Middle East, India, and Latin America.
Refreshments at 6:30 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m.
