Last minute gift? Northern California Kids produce
‘Peace Calendar' to celebrate true meaning of the holidays
Looking for a last-minute gift that celebrates the true meaning of the
holidays?
School children from Northern California from 1st to 6th grade have
produced their own "2009 Children's Peace Calendar" to celebrate "Peace and
Love."
But finding the calendar – where school kids share their vision of peace
and of a better world – isn't that easy. In short, they have hundreds of
the calendars just waiting for good homes.
The calendars are also completely safe for the planet, and your home – they
are made with recycled paper, using soy inks and have a biodegradable wrap
on them.
"The children who provided the artwork just volunteer after they hear about
the calendar from someone else. The ‘Peace Calendar' is spread by
word-of-mouth," said Janice Nakashima of "Peace Arts Exchange."
For more information about the calendars and how to get them for a small
donation contact "Peace Arts Exchange" at 916/393-7690. Some calendars are
also available at the "Avid Reader" in Davis and Sacramento and Peace Action (909 12th St.) in Sacramento.
