Most of us cannot forget this holiday season that we are sending our young women and men to Iraq to occupy that country, to kill and be killed. And our new president is getting ready to send 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan.
But most of us may not take the time to tell the public, the potential recruits, ourselves that we remember!
Join CodePINK and other anti-war activists today, Wednesday, Dec 24th from noon until 2:00pm in front of the MRS (marine recruiting station)*, as we offer alternatives to these very youth, challenge recruiters to join the growing courage to resist soldiers, and stand for peace and the end of occupying Iraq, Afghanistan at the very least.
This is an inspiring, fun action that will enable you to go off and celebrate with a lighter heart!
*MRS is located on Shattuck Ave just south of University where Shattuck runs one-way and north - or 2 blocks north of the downtown Berkeley BART station. 64 Shattuck Square, Berkeley
