tells the true story of Sunny Schwartz’s extraordinary work in the criminal justice system and how her profound belief in people’s ability to change is transforming the San Francisco jails and the criminals incarcerated there. Sunny Schwartz will discuss the complex realities of the U.S. jails and her work with Resolve to Stop Violence Project (RSVP), a program with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department which has cut recidivism for violent re-arrests by 80 percent. Sheriff Michael Hennessey and Jean O’Hara, co-founder of Families and Friends of Murdered Victims, will also speak. A book sale and discussion follows the presentation.
