I am a gardener at UC Berkeley. As much as I love trees and am horrified at the University's plans to clear-cut in Strawberry Canyon and decry the destruction of the grove at the stadium, I have a problem with Acacia, eucalyptus and other scurfy non-native trees that are brittle and prone to collapse in the high winds of California.

Zach should pick his battles more carefully, Acacia trees should stay in Australia!
