Mayor Gavin Newsom stop messing with Margaret Brodkin and keep Dwayne Jones - away.

The Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) was formed around 1989 and has since done a lot for the children of San Francisco.

The Department may not be perfect but he has made headlines when States all over the United States - have come to San Francisco studied the operations of DCYF - and then gone home and executed some of the same models - with success.

Here is San Francisco two major recent organizations have failed San Franciscans. The first one Communities of Opportunity and one Dwayne Jones. This guy wasted over $3.9 million.

The second City Build and one Rhonda Simmons. This woman wasted over $7 million.

It is wrong to gang up on Margaret Brodkin who is not cozy with me - but I do respect her - when she takes a bold and sincere stand for our children. She speaks her mind and if have few that do this - because they are NOT educated on issues and have little experience. Margaret Brodkin has both.

Over the years Margaret Brodkin has fined tuned many operations. She knows how to select the right talent to address issues.

Our children in San Francisco do not get the best of attention - but they do some - with the limited resources.

It is critical that one feels for our youth to do the right thing. That cannot come from someone like Dwayne Jones - who has screwed things before. First with Young Community Developers, Mayor's Office of Community Development and now with Communities of Opportunity.

Margaret Brodkin has a large following - so there is going to be a back lash if some one - even the Mayor tries to mess with her. We can always rally and bring about a settlement on our terms. The Mayor is now acting like Caligula.

It does not matter if the Mayor does not understand about some reserve funds - with children, safe havens, education, nutrition, and a host of related issues - linked with children. We need reserve funds that we have easy access to.

Try getting some money from the State and the Federal government in these difficult times. Of course DCTF does not have easy access to the Gettys or the other cronies that funded Communities of Opportunity - a despicable and failed organization.

It is not for the Mayor to think that he can remove some Director - so that some one - a crook can have access to the funds. This will NOT happen - if we know who the crook is. We can take a stand and we will take a stand.

As I said DCYF has been in operation for a long, long time. Close to twenty years and I have seen it grow and watch it grow from a distance.

Margaret Brodkin - it is not for me to say - but I will say it anyway. If for the sake of our children you need to stay - please stay.

And to you crooks and thugs - I say if you mess with Margaret Brodkin - just for the sake of messing with her - we will support her in force.
