The Blogging Revolution: A Look at the Repression of Online Journalism Around the World
Friday, December 5, 2008 :A new report by the Committee to Protect Journalists says more internet journalists are jailed today than journalists in any other medium. We speak with journalist Antony Loewenstein, author of "The Blogging Revolution." He travelled to Iran, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Cuba and China in 2007 to look at bloggers around the world who live and write under repressive regimes.
Antony Loewenstein is a Sydney-based journalist. He"s just written a new book called, “The Blogging Revolution.” It also explores the role corporations such as Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are playing in net filtering and censorship. Antony Loewenstein joins us in our firehouse studio.
